DOCTOR WHO GAME!!!!

Fans of the wildly popular BBC series Doctor Who will be happy to know that a video game is finally being made based on the series and it’s free! Called the Doctor Who Adventures, the game was announced after the series’ latest episode and will focus around the current plot in the show. The game will, of course, feature the might of the Daleks and will be released in installments over the course of the summer. According to the BBC the story for the game is as follows:
"The TARDIS materializes in 1963 - and London is in ruins. The Daleks have seized control of time and the only chance of saving Earth lies in a desperate quest to Skaro, the Daleks' home planet - before time catches up with Amy, the last survivor of the human race!"

The first installment will be called City of the Daleks and will be released on June 5 via the BBC’s Doctor Who website. The trailer can be found below.

Yesterday, in order to build up anticipation and excitement for the game, Daleks invaded Sheffield Railway Station in London. The promotion attracted many young and old Doctor Who fans alike. Even the special fan made Dalek Storm made an appearance. Dalek Storm even has his own Facebook page.

Fans have been waiting ages to see something like this come to fruitation. Although the game doesn’t seem like its top quality, one can’t complain with the price of free and at least it’s a start. Hopefully if this becomes popular enough a full fledged game will be produced in the future. So, encourage your Doctor Who friends to get behind this project so we can see more of these types of projects in the future!

Wii Love Netflix

If you ordered a Netflix disc for your Wii, wait no longer! The discs should be arriving in the mail tomorrow. Despite the lack of HD, the upgrade should still be fun. I personally use my Netflix way too much and now I can share my account with my parents!

Infinity Ward Drama

There has been a lot of buzz recently involving Infinity Ward and their amazing successful game, Modern Warfare 2. Some news has been bad, while others remain great. Lets start with the good news.
As we all know, MW2's first map pack, The Stimulus Package, just came out. To celebrate its release on the 360, Infinity Ward doubled the amount of XP over the release weekend. Of course that meant I would have to prestige. My first map was the Overgrown map, which is one of my favorites from the new map pack. The pack included maps from the original MW and all new ones as well. All maps were pretty decent, but my only complaint is that all the maps seem to cater to snipers, which is great if you are a sniper, but not so much for those of us who like to run around. I ended up zombiefying myself in front of the TV the whole weekend until my hands were numb and I have to say, it was a lot of fun. After the first initial release problems on day one, everything seemed to be up and running fine.
Despite Infinity Wards successes, there hangs a shadow over the development company. Lately, if you haven't been reading your news sites, Infinity Ward founders Jason West and Vince Zampella are filing a lawsuit against Activision over their termination and their loss of royalties. Activision is filing a counter suit as well claiming they were "self serving schemers". Since then, West and Zampella have formed their own development team, Respawn Entertainment and have signed with EA. Now, its just been announced that two more key employees at IW have left. Both Jon Shiring, who has been a programmer with IW for 6 years, and Mackey McCandish, a key designer with IW for 8 years, have left today and severely crippled the future of the series. Who will leave next?

Perfect Dark Micro Review

Perfect Dark and I have a history together. You see, this was my LIFE while I was in middle school. Sitting on my friend's water bed (why don't they make those anymore?) playing 4 player split screen, those were the days. Of course when I heard it was coming to 360 Arcade, I counted down the days. I thought, "Finally! This could be awesome online. Those middle school friends of mine are getting further and further away so XBOX Live multi should help!" Unfortunately, I have been unable to test this theory yet, so I will get back to you guys on that. On the plus side, the multi-player is still as awesome as it used to be. You can support 4 player split screen like the old days or make some new friends online.
Gameplay-wise, the controls were a little wanky. The precision of the controls is awkward because the game is not meant for the 360 controller. Often times I got a little sick from moving around. I must say though, the developers knew their crowd based on their controller settings. You can choose to play the classic settings, Spartan settings, or Duty Calls settings. I prefer the Duty Calls settings. It just feels right.
All in all, for 800 MS points, this game is a worthy investment for the nostalgia factor alone, not to mention its a cheap FPS to play with your friends. Needless to say, I'll be playing this for a while.
